I’d been a certified coach for ten years and for fifteen I’d taught mindfulness meditation, energy healing and yoga, when overnight my life was turned upside down. Without warning my home and surrounding thousand buildings burnt down in a wildfire. We had a horrible time getting out and some of our neighbors didn’t make it.

In the months that followed, I went through two surgeries, a divorce (as lovingly as we could do it but challenging) and a much-loved parent’s diagnosis with a debilitating terminal illness.

I was exhausted. I also had PTSD.  

The wellness practices that had supported me for years proved ineffective as reoccurring nightmares of escaping the fire haunted me. Barely sleeping, I stopped working.

It was tough.

I realized it wasn’t just my neighborhood that was in ashes. I had total burnout. I was a Type A perfectionist but found myself unable to do anything.

My life became a quest to recover because if I didn’t, I wouldn’t have much of a life.

I devoured every article, book and practice I could find that could help. I tried new techniques and mixed protocols together like cocktails.

And gradually, month by month, jigsaw piece by piece, I started to see improvements.

One part of the puzzle was a groundbreaking technique that rearranged the neurology of my brain and completely wiped clean the trauma from the fire in one session. It also uncovered unconscious limiting beliefs that were keeping me stuck so I could change them and thrive. (I spent a year getting trained and certified to an advanced level.)

Another piece was learning new energy work that cleared blocks and charged up my body like never before.

And another was putting knowledge gleaned from hundreds of hours of research into simple, strategic practices to regain a healthy nervous system, recover my exhausted adrenals and be able to sleep. As I combined the most effective protocols into practical, repeatable steps, I started sleeping soundly and feeling better than ever.

I knew when I returned to work, I wanted to coach leaders to perform at their peak whilst creating cultures of well-being. I’d share the key strategies I’d discovered that unlock high-performance without burnout because strong mental, emotional and physical health is the foundation for sustainable success.
